Privacy Policy
Knockers ("we", "us", "our") operates the Knockers platform, including the Knockers iOS app and the website at knockersentertainment.app. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose your information when you use our services. Please read it carefully.
1. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
1.1 Account and identity
- Name — First name, last name, and (for entertainers) stage name.
- Email address — Used for account creation, login, and communications.
- Phone number — Used for account verification, booking communications, and safety (e.g. emergency contact).
1.2 Identity and age verification
To use booking and messaging features, you must complete identity and age verification. This is handled by Stripe Identity.
- When you verify, you provide a government-issued ID (e.g. driver's licence or passport) and a selfie directly to Stripe Identity.
- Stripe processes and stores those documents in accordance with its own policies. Knockers receives the verification outcome (e.g. verified status and confirmation that you are 18 or older) and limited related metadata. We do not store your raw ID images on our own servers.
- Where you hold a police check or similar clearance relevant to your account, we may record that verification status.
1.3 Communications and content
- Chat messages — Messages sent and received through the platform's in-app chat in connection with bookings. We store these to provide the service, support dispute resolution, and where necessary for safety or legal reasons.
- User-generated content — Profiles, listings, event details, photos, and reviews you submit.
1.4 Location (if shared)
- Location data — Only when you choose to share it (e.g. for an active booking, to discover nearby entertainers and events, or for a safety feature). We do not continuously track your location without consent.
1.5 Payment and purchase data
- Booking payments — Card payments for bookings and payouts are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or CVV. We may store payment metadata (amount, status, identifiers, and last four digits/brand/expiry for display) where applicable.
- In-app purchases — The one-time verification fee and the venue advertising subscription are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed via RevenueCat. Apple handles the payment; we receive purchase and subscription status (e.g. active, expiry) from RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
1.6 Device and diagnostic data
- Technical data — We and our service providers may collect device identifiers, app version, crash logs, and basic diagnostic information to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How data is stored
- Primary storage: User and booking-related data (including chat) are stored in Firebase (Firestore and related services). Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth.
- Identity verification: Identity documents are processed and stored by Stripe Identity. We retain only the verification outcome and related metadata.
- Payment data: Booking payment and payout data are processed and stored by Stripe. In-app purchase and subscription data are processed by Apple and surfaced to us via RevenueCat.
- Security: We use industry-standard security measures (e.g. encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) to protect your data. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and protect your account.
3. Who can access your data
- You — You can access your own account data, booking history, and (where applicable) chat history through the app.
- Us (platform operator) — Authorised personnel may access data as needed to operate the service, enforce terms, handle disputes, and comply with law.
- Other users — Only where necessary for the service: for example, entertainers, vendors, venues, and clients in a booking may see each other's profile and booking-related information and chat for that booking.
- Service providers — We use the following processors, who handle data on our instructions under agreements that require them to protect it:
- Google Firebase — database, authentication, hosting, and storage.
- Stripe — booking payments and payouts.
- Stripe Identity — identity and age verification.
- Apple — in-app purchases and subscriptions through the App Store.
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management.
4. When we may disclose your data
We may disclose your information:
- Legal obligation — To comply with applicable law, court order, subpoena, or government request.
- Safety and protection — Where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of you, other users, or the public (including in connection with our safety alert features).
- Enforcement — To enforce our Terms & Conditions, Contractor Agreement, or other policies, including investigating potential violations.
- With your consent — Where you have given clear consent for a specific disclosure.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing.
5. Data retention
- Account data — Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to comply with law and resolve disputes.
- Chat and booking data — Retained for the duration required to operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Payment records — Retained in line with accounting and tax requirements and our payment providers' retention policies.
- Verification data — Identity documents are retained by Stripe Identity under its policies. We retain only the verification outcome for as long as needed for compliance, then securely delete or anonymise where possible.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access — You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, subject to applicable law.
- Correction — You may update much of your information in-app; you may request correction of other data.
- Account deletion — You can delete your account and associated data from within the app (Profile → Settings), or by emailing contact@kratzerco.app. We may need to retain certain information for legal, safety, or legitimate business purposes.
- Complaints — You may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if applicable).
7. Children
The platform is intended only for adults. You must be 18 years or older to create an account or use the service. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice by email or in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
